The Club runs several snow-training camps each year and information on each individual camp can be found under Future Camps.
Summer Seven days technical training on a glacier, usually in Austria. Skiing in the morning with fitness and sporting activities in the afternoon. This is an excellent camp for younger trainees and those new to the DHO. For information about race training, please contact the Racing & Training Manager by email.
October Pre-season training during half term, on a glacier, usually in Austria. This is a very popular camp and essential for those wishing to take part in the British Alpine Racing Ski Clubs (BARSC) Championships at Christmas.
Early season FIS races In Scandinavia before Christmas
Christmas Intensive training over Christmas (in both Wengen and Petzen) followed by the BARSC Championships, in Petzen, Austria, in December/January 2008/9.
February The February half term camp is replaced by a week in Bormio, Italy, for the English Championships from 15-20 February 2009. If there is enough demand there will also be a training camp the week beforehand in either Austria or Italy.
Easter Two weeks in late March/early April based in Brides les Bains for the British Championships in Méribel and the Scottish in Courchevel.
3 Day Camps 3 day camps, giving three full days’ skiing, are available throughout the winter (Thursday to Sunday or Friday to Monday).
Benni Raich training camps Training in Pitztal, Austria, throughout the winter.
Speed Training A new speed training facility in Italy run in conjunction with FIS. Camps planned for before Christmas and immediately prior to the English Championships.
Milton Keynes Snowdome Robin Gilyead will once again be running a few Sunday sessions in the MK Snowdome – 2 to 3 hours skiing in the morning, followed by lunch and possibly some activity in the afternoon.
