History of the races
The DHO Schoolboys’ Races started in 1999 to complement the very popular Schoolgirls’ Races, which have been running since 1959. The races were first run in Veysonnaz and have grown every year to the point where they have become just as popular as the girls’ event with over 60 schools represented and 28 school teams competing.
After Veysonnaz, the races moved to the DHO’s home village of Wengen. The number of competitors continued to expand making it necessary for the races to move again, to Les Menuires in France, and now to Meiringen/Hasliberg, Switzerland.
